On Tuesday night, Corey Perry hurt the Montreal Canadiens late in the third period by scoring the tying goal. This goal allowed the Lightning to take control of the final minutes and score with just under 40 seconds left on the clock, to escape with the win.
However, following this setback for Dominique Ducharme's soldiers, a big surprise awaited Cole Caufield between the two dressing rooms. 30 minutes after the game, Corey Perry was waiting for him to give him a hug, worthy of the hug of the year.
According to Renaud Lavoie, the scene was beautiful to see. It perfectly demonstrated how Corey Perry is a unique leader, a warrior, a man of great class, a true mentor for the young Caufield. The number 22 will be able to count on him for the rest of his career, it's obvious!
The former Habs player spoke with Pierre Houde before the game to talk about his time with the Habs, which he greatly appreciated.
A REAL one! Period!
