Buyers are increasingly separating from sellers, and upcoming free agents are getting closer to their full autonomy.
Big decisions will be made by the trade deadline.
Earlier this week, we reported that a big name surprisingly popped up in rumors across the NHL:
And he's not alone. There's another one.
According to information from The Athletic, another star player could be available on the trade market.
We're talking about Sidney Crosby's faithful sidekick for many years, Jake Guentzel, who is a 40-goal scorer. Wow.
It's hard to believe, but it comes from a reputable media source and could be explained by the fact that his value is huge, especially for a player whose contract expires at the end of this season.
Still according to *The Athletic*, the Pittsburgh Penguins' GM, Kyle Dubas, hasn't even started discussions regarding a possible contract extension with his star forward.
Guentzel, who has scored 90 goals in his last 186 games, would bring back at least a 1st round pick and an A+ quality prospect to the Penguins, who will eventually have to start rebuilding.
In addition to Guentzel and Gaudreau, The Athletic also reports that (unsurprisingly) a few Habs players would be available.
This notably includes Christian Dvorak, Jake Allen, Tanner Pearson, Sean Monahan, and possibly also David Savard and Cayden Primeau.
Big files to follow in the coming weeks.
