The Montreal Canadiens announced this week the creation of a committee in order to choose the future general manager of the organization.

We learned a few days ago that Bob Gainey will be on this committee along with Geoff Molson, among others.

TVA Sports journalist Renaud Lavoie revealed today that Michael Andlauer, one of the shareholders of the Tricolore, will also be at the deliberation table. The latter was one of those who chose Marc Bergevin in 2012.

This means that each person involved in the decision will discuss their preferred candidates to succeed Bergevin.

"Each of the committee members will have their list maybe there will be eight names on one list and 20 names on another. When we finish meeting, we'll probably narrow it down to maybe 10 names."

If Jeff Gorton has indicated that the CH organization would like to hire someone different, it could well be that a few dozen candidates are among the discussions.

So that will represent a lot of candidates for the Habs' new vice-president of hockey operations to meet.

"It's going to be okay in January."

So it seems more and more obvious that the decision will be made after the holidays.

After the names of Daniel Briere and Mathieu Darche, several players' agents are in the rumors in Montreal. Do you think that patience is required in this matter?
