The Spittin Chiclets podcast is often the place where many players and former players get into confidences and anecdotes. One of the latest to appear on the show had a great one about Carey Price.

Indeed, former NHL player Erik Cole, who played 101 games with the CH from 2011 to 2013 told how he thought he had blinded the club's goalie before a game in Ottawa.

The first thing to know is that the former CH 72 used special eye drops before games. These drops, which he refers to as "Listerine for the eyes", allowed him to stay awake during games.

During that famous game against the Senators, Cole offered his trick to Price who accepted, but immediately regretted it. He couldn't see anything during the warm-up.

It all ended well as Price, once back in the locker room, thanked Cole for making him try it.

"He even asked that on the next trip to Florida, we visit a pharmacy together so I can show him exactly what to buy!" - Erik Cole

The story doesn't say, however, if Price continued to use this product afterwards... It may have been what allowed him, two years later, to have the season of his career when he won the Vezina and Hart trophies!

In the end, Cole was traded at the beginning of the 2012-2013 season for Michael Ryder and a 3rd round pick. During his 892-game NHL career, he accumulated 532 points and won a Stanley Cup with the Carolina Hurricanes in his rookie season of 2001-2002.
