While it is expected that defenseman Jeff Petry will be traded or that a quality free agent player will come to Montreal, a tipster suggested that the Habs will add two New Jersey Devils players to their roster who will be free agents this summer.
As reported by my colleague Christian Matte of Marqueur.com, Tony Marinaro mentioned on his podcast The Sick Podcast that Kent Hughes should keep an eye on forwards A.J. Greer and Frederik Gauthier.
Greer, 25 and a former second-round pick of the Colorado Avalanche in 2015, is a rugged left winger who can bring some depth to a third or fourth line, and that kind of player you can never have enough of on a team.
As for Gauthier, he fits the same profile as Greer and at 6-foot-5 and 239 pounds, he could give the Habs a big, effective center on faceoffs and also bring a good dose of toughness to the lineup.
And we agree, Greer and Gauthier are not likely to cost too much and in the worst case scenario, they could prove to be excellent players for the Laval Rocket.
Do you like the idea of bringing these two players into the organization?
