True to form on his BPM Sports show, Georges Laraque gave his thoughts on Jonathan Drouin's situation with the Habs and what he would do with him in the organization.

According to him, the Habs should put the Quebecer on waivers so that he can play in Laval.

"Drouin won't be back next year. With what he gives you this year, I would send him on waivers. Send him to play in Laval, at least he's a Quebecer and he's going to play a lot and he's going to help Laval win, but in Montreal, if he's not in the plans anymore, there's no point putting him in the lineup. He's not in the plans for the future." - Georges Laraque

It's clear that the surplus of forwards in Montreal is causing Martin St-Louis and his organization a lot of headaches. In addition, the holding of many veterans is pitiful and they certainly do not help the cause of his team, so they can trade them to make room for the youngsters and to get an interesting return.

On the other hand, was the caliber of play of the CH #27 so hard to pass up and now to be placed on waivers, as the former NHL strongman mentions? Not really, especially considering that Mike Hoffman kept his place in the lineup.

However, as Laraque indicated in his speech, the good Mike will have another year left on his contract next year. By putting him in the stands, you reduce the small chance of maybe finding a trade partner by the trade deadline.

Do you agree with Georges Laraque that Jonathan Drouin should be put in the tank and sent to Laval if he is not claimed?
