The man who is ranked as the top prospect in the upcoming draft had a great season with the Kingston Frontenacs of the OHL, and did well in the playoffs.
But what we're interested in here is whether or not he'll be the Habs' first-ever pick at the Bell Centre this July. Most experts believe that Kent Hughes should select Wright, but there are still some doubts about him.
What if an offer that could be described as an offer you can't refuse comes to the Habs?
On this subject, former Habs player and now host of 91.9 Sports, Georges Laraque, asked the station's listeners a simple question: would you trade the first pick in the upcoming draft for New York Rangers forward Alexis Lafreniere?
Basically, it's like a one-for-one trade between Wright and Lafreniere.
Even though it's a bit of a risky proposition from the former NHL tough guy, the fact remains that despite a rather ordinary start to his career with the Rangers, the Quebec forward is starting to earn his stripes with the organization, and in Game 5 of his team's first round series against the Pittsburgh Penguins, he collected a goal and an assist for a total of 4 points in seven playoff games. He was much more physically involved and even got a nice promotion on the first line in the final game.
In Wright's case, he hasn't played a game in the NHL yet, so it's very premature to make such a personnel move but hey, we can speculate a bit.
Would you do it?
