For the past few weeks, many Montreal Canadiens fans have been watching the bottom of the standings in preparation for the famous 2022 NHL lottery.
After a few "twists and turns", it is now official and confirmed. We have some good news for you this morning: the Montreal Canadiens have just secured the very last spot in the NHL's overall rankings and therefore, the best chances to draft at the very first spot in the 2022 Draft, which will take place in Montreal.
Following the Arizona Coyotes' win yesterday against the Dallas Stars, the Canadiens will officially finish 32nd in the NHL.
So, in summary, Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton will have at least a top-3 pick.
The percentages are as follows: the Habs have a 25% chance of drafting first overall (1 in 4), 18.8% chance of having the second overall pick and 55.7% chance of having the third overall pick.
Whether it's Shane Wright, Juraj Slafkovsky, Logan Cooley, Matthew Savoie or others, the Montreal Canadiens will add a special player here.
