Dreger came back to this topic during the podcast Montreal Hockey Now, with Jimmy Murphy and Marco D'Amico, with a small clarification.
He said there was a difference between asking about a player's availability and wanting to bring him with his team at all costs. Dreger also added that Armia's value remains good, despite the contract he signed last summer. Why? In the NHL, among the GMs, we consider this year as a hiccup, basically. They still have confidence in Armia.
Which is great news for the Montreal Canadiens and for Kent Hughes, should he decide to trade him. He has value.
This season, the Canadiens forward has managed only two goals in 41 games, far from the standards to which he had accustomed us in recent years.
Insider Marco D'Amico, who was also on the podcast, said the two ideal destinations for Armia would be Seattle and Los Angeles.
One thing is certain, however, if Kent Hughes wants to trade Armia eventually, the latter will have to start producing again, which will have the effect of increasing his value.
