The 19 year old defenseman, William Trudeau, was selected by the Montreal Canadiens in the 4th round of the last NHL amateur auction. The defenseman is once again making a name for himself this year with the Charlottetown Islanders, posting 25 points, including six goals, in 31 games.
But in his last 15 games, Trudeau has shifted into second gear. In that stretch, he has 17 points, up from eight points in 16 games at the start of the campaign.
On Saturday night, he collected no less than four assists, which allowed him to earn the 3rd star of the game. He played flawlessly, as did his teammate and fellow Canadiens' pick, Xavier Simoneau.
Trudeau ranks 8th in scoring among QMJHL defensemen and 9th in the differential column (plus-16). He is having a huge season, which is a positive for the Red, White, and Blue.
