As Alex Desrosiers (Rumeursdetransaction.com) reports based on a very interesting article from Montreal Hockey Now, here is a short list of players who could sign a professional tryout contract with the Montreal Canadiens (the so-called PTO).

When a team is interested in a player, but has doubts, this is the ideal solution. In his most recent piece, Marco D'Amico identifies a few players that could interest Kent Hughes and the Habs.

Here is the list:

Anton Stralman

With nearly 1,000 games under his belt, the 36-year-old can still play 20 minutes per game. The defenseman would be very good at framing the CH's young defense.

In particular, he has been a good mentor to elite D-man like Victor Hedman and Aaron Ekblad, who are quick to talk about the great positive impact Stralman had on them when they were young.

He would be a solid 6th or 7th defenseman, who could bring a lot to the dressing room.

Calvin de Haan

With ten seasons behind the tie in the NHL, de Haan is still without a contract for next season. A reliable, defensive type defenseman is never a no-no in any lineup.

Antoine Roussel

A fourth line player who could provide a tremendous amount of leadership to this young team.

And last but not least :

P.K. Subban

The chances are pretty slim, but why not? It would definitely sell some tickets and spice up the Montreal Canadiens' 2022-2023 season, which could be tough at times.

Why not offer P.K. Subban a trial contract?

Which of the above options would you want the most?
