It will be interesting to see what combinations head coach Dominique Ducharme will use in the rest of the offense. In addition to Gallagher, Drouin, Armia and Anderson, Marc Bergevin has acquired Mike Hoffman, a former 30-goal scorer.
The coach will therefore have several interesting options on offense, a shortcoming of the Habs in recent years. TVA Sports analyst Yvon Pedneault suggested an interesting trio that Ducharme could use: Brendan Gallagher, Jonathan Drouin and Jesperi Kotkaniemi.
It is true to say that these three players complement each other perfectly. If Drouin can regain his confidence with the puck, he remains a constant threat to the opponent. Add to that Gallagher's fire and "KK's" sharp shot, and there is no doubt that this line could do some damage.
The analysis would put Mike Hoffman and Tyler Toffoli on the third unit. At the center of this trio, Jake Evans or Ryan Poehling could play the role of the energetic player while the other two bring more finesse.
The preseason games will be of utmost importance for the Tricolore. It will be the ideal time to try all sorts of things and find the perfect combinations on offense. It's been a long time since the Habs have had such great depth in their offense. It will be interesting to follow when camp opens in September.
