As we reported in the last few hours, Montreal Canadiens general manager Kent Hughes is currently at a press conference.
He was immediately asked about the news reported by SportExpress, which is usually very reliable.
This morning, they were advancing that a major decision would have been made internally at the Montreal Canadiens to not select any Russian players in the upcoming NHL draft.
"According to @sportexpress reporter Ivan Bogun, the Montreal Canadiens and Philadelphia Flyers have decided not to select Russian players in the #2022NHLdraft."
On this subject, see what Hughes responded:
"Kent Hughes confirmed in a press briefing that there is no truth to the rumor that the #CH is refusing to draft a Russian national player in the draft. They even interviewed one this morning!" - Marc-Olivier Beaudoin
Interesting! So they would have met with some Russian prospects this morning. We can think here of a certain Ivan Miroshnichenko.
"GM Kent Hughes denies the report that the #Canadians will not be drafting any Russian players." - Priyanta Emrith
