While many Canadiens fans would like to see Patrick Roy fill the position, it seems that another former Canadiens player could very well join Martin St-Louis behind the bench.
As reported by Max Truman of Danslescoulisses.com, Francis Bouillon is being seriously considered by the Habs organization to become an assistant coach next season.
Currently a player development coach with the Habs, Bouillon had briefly helped out in Laval as an assistant to Joel Bouchard when Alexandre Burrows left to join Dominique Ducharme with the big club.
And on top of that, he would probably fill the position of the defenseman, as Richardson did. It must be said that Bouillon would be very well positioned to lead the young defensemen of the organization, he who already works with them.
And there are similarities to be made between Bouillon and St. Louis, two players who have had to fight against prejudice for virtually their entire respective careers and that could be an added motivator for some of the youngsters, including a certain Cole Caufield.
There is still a lot of work to be done for Kent Hughes between now and the start of next season and it will be interesting to follow this issue over the next few weeks.
One thing is for sure, we will soon have an important announcement to make with the Montreal Canadiens, and it could lead to a promotion for Francis Bouillon.
