In the last few minutes, on TSN, renowned tipster Darren Dreger revealed some important information about young Montreal Canadiens forward Juraj Slafkovsky.

While some pundits are criticizing the Slovakian's playing time, Dreger has just stated that, according to his information and what is being said behind the scenes, Slafkovsky would eventually be sent down to the American Hockey League.

This would be Kent Hughes' current plan.

The Habs staff would like to see their first overall pick get some NHL experience before he goes on to dominate with the Laval Rocket, knowing exactly what he needs to work on.

Dreger says it's highly likely the Habs will send Slafkovsky to the AHL eventually, but the team wants to work on building his "NHL identity" first.

Joel Armia's return to play could mean Slafkovsky's return to the AHL, according to many. Let's also remember the famous nine-game plateau that could come into play.

It's something to keep an eye on, but don't be surprised if, in the next few days, we learn that "Slaf" is sent down to the Laval Rocket.

It seems highly likely at this point.

More details to come!
