In the last few seconds, the Montreal Canadiens organization announced a contract extension with goalie Jake Allen:
"The Canadiens agree to terms on a two-season contract extension (2023-2024 to 2024-2025) with goaltender Jake Allen."

Allen, acquired from the St. Louis Blues in 2020 for draft picks, is 32 years old. He played in 35 games last season, maintaining a 9-20-4 record, a 3.30 goals-against average and a .905 save percentage
The deal has an average annual value of $3.85 million. ($7.7 million total)
