Jaromir Jagr will blow out his 50th birthday on February 15, and he is still skating at a rather high level. In fact, Jagr still plays in the Czech first division with his club in Kladno, the Knights, of which he is the owner.
He loves to play hockey and his big guns are still as effective as they used to be, or almost as effective as they used to be. So far, in 20 games, he has 15 points, including seven goals. That puts him second on the team in scoring, just behind fellow forward Tomas Plekanec.
Jagr has 1,921 points, including 766 goals, in 1,733 NHL games, putting him second on the all-time scoring list behind Wayne Gretzky.
To me, Jagr is one of the best players in the history of the National Hockey League, a passionate, inspiring player and human being. It's simple, this guy makes an impression on people's minds.
