Tuesday afternoon, the Carolina Hurricanes crushed the Boston Bruins 7-1. Former Canadien Jesperi Kotkaniemi had an excellent game, finding the bottom of the net twice and getting the second star of the game.
Thanks to this performance, the young Finn has now scored ten points (three goals) in his last ten games, bringing his season total to 18 points, including nine goals, in 36 games.
Note that with his nine goals, Kotkaniemi would currently occupy the top of the CH scoring column, ahead of Josh Anderson, who has scored eight so far. His 18 points would put him fourth on his former team.
Although his performance remains meagre for a player with a salary of more than six million dollars (6.1 million), we can say that KK is sending a nice wink to his detractors and especially to those who did not want Marc Bergevin to equalize the Hurricanes' hostile offer.
In short, are you beginning to regret the departure of Kotkaniemi or are you still comfortable with the decision to let him go?
