In Kale Clague, the Montreal Canadiens have a very interesting project. A 23-year-old offensive defenseman who has not reached his full potential.
However, he has not been able to exploit this potential since his arrival with the Tricolore. In approximately 36 minutes of ice time, he's had seven turnovers against him, which would average out to 12 turnovers per game.
To give you a comparison, Jeff Petry ranks first in the NHL for turnovers against him on average, getting 3.44 per 60 minutes.
Yet Clague had only five total turnovers in 11 games with the Kings this season. What could have happened?
It's probably a matter of adjustment in his case. After all, he just arrived, so the sample size is too small to form a real opinion about him. Let's be patient, hoping he corrects this flaw, which can be very deadly in a game.
