As we are hours away from another extremely eventful day in the National Hockey League, Montreal Canadiens general manager Kent Hughes may be about to surprise us again (after the trade involving Alexander Romanov and Kirby Dach)

According to Renaud Lavoie, who has been solid in the draft and has revealed some scoops, we could soon see another big move by Kent Hughes.

Appearing this Monday on 91.9 Sports, on Le retour des sportifs, Renaud Lavoie revealed this, as reported by my colleague David St-Jean.

"The Habs took advantage of the draft to make a deal that has yet to be announced. My guess is that it will be announced this week. It is very likely that Kent Hughes and his counterpart will wait until the free-agent market opens before making it official." - Renaud Lavoie

Wow, so the Montreal Canadiens would have made another trade, during the draft in Montreal, but the transaction would simply not be announced yet. Given that they are possibly waiting here for the opening of free agency, we understand that it must include big salaries and therefore, quite important players.

Who is involved? Jeff Petry? Mike Hoffman? Jonathan Drouin? Jake Allen? Josh Anderson?

Who do we go after? Pierre-Luc Dubois? Tyson Barrie? Maybe Jesse Puljujarvi or Filip Zadina?

We're really looking forward to finding out, especially since GM Hughes has proven that he's clearly not afraid to make big moves. We don't have any more details at the moment, but if Renaud's words are any indication, we should have some soon.

You can hear his words around the 51st minute of this clip from Monday's show.
