Kent Hughes trade with Blackhawks: Montreal Canadiens unveil call-up to Kirby Dach
You've probably heard about it, last night the Montreal Canadiens organization released a very interesting behind the scenes video of the 2022 NHL draft and the preparation before the event.
We told you about it earlier today:
We do get a behind-the-scenes look at the selection of Juraj Slafkovsky, but towards the end of the video, we also get a look at the major three-team trade with the Chicago Blackhawks and New York Islanders that was made in the draft.
In particular, the Canadiens reveal the interesting call made by general manager Kent Hughes, to his new acquisition Dach, seconds after the trade was announced, and it's really interesting.
"Hello Kirby, I wanted to take the time to welcome you to Montreal. We are really excited to have acquired you. We have been working on this deal non-stop for the past 48 hours. You're going to love our head coach and you're going to see, we're going to play an offensive style and we want you to skate and use your big body. I don't know if you noticed, but we just drafted a guy who looks almost twice your size!"
