According to the excellent journalist Mikaël Lalancette (Le Soleil de Québec), Patrick Roy and the Quebec Remparts have just acquired forward Justin Robidas.

A great move!

In return, Roy would give the Foreurs of Val-d'Or: the young goalie Mathys Fernandez, as well as several draft picks.

What's special here is that the transaction will be officially announced at the holiday season.

"QMJHL Bomb: Justin Robidas will become a Remparts. Details...

Patrick Roy was serious when he said he would be more "aggressive" in the lead-up to the Quebec Remparts' upcoming season.

Le Soleil has learned that the club's general manager took advantage of the latest QMJHL draft to nab Justin Robidas of the Val-d'Or Foreurs, a deal to be announced during the holiday season." - Mikaël Lalancette

Obviously, all players involved (in the trade) must remain healthy between now and the holidays.

Robidas is the 2nd overall pick in the 2019 QMJHL draft, he's 19 years old, and he finished as the 14th best scorer in the Courteau Circuit in 2021-22.

In 68 games last season, Justin Robidas had a solid 82 points.

Of course, his father, Stephane, was recently hired as an assistant coach for the Montreal Canadiens. Justin is a fifth round pick of the Carolina Hurricanes.

Why announce it now if it's going to be done at the Holidays? Good question, we are currently looking for the answer.
