If Habs fans can have one wish for the upcoming season, it's that the goaltenders stay healthy as much as possible, as this has been a real headache this year.

Without Carey Price and Jake Allen for most of the season, we were still able to discover the talent of Samuel Montembeault, but despite some good performances, the team's management would like to have more stability for next year.

Canadiens general manager Kent Hughes was interviewed on 91.9 Sports recently and as reported by my colleague Christian Matte of Marqueur.com, the situation is far from settled in the short-term.

During the end-of-season review last Saturday, Carey Price mentioned that he still had questions about his knee and he must meet with a doctor in the next few days. Hughes repeated these comments during his interview with 91.9 Sports.

"We'll see, Carey has a meeting with another doctor this week, we're waiting to see how it goes. We have until July to determine what happens. Hopefully we'll have black and white for an answer, if not, we'll have a back-up plan."

But what might that back-up plan be? It seems to be at the exchange market level.

For now, the priority remains the health of No. 31, but should the Habs be forced to start next season with the Allen-Montembeault tandem, we're guessing that new management will likely want to reach out for reinforcements in front of the net. And it's not a guarantee that both goalies won't get injured during the next season.

One thing is certain, Kent Hughes clearly has a plan in mind and he was generous enough to share it with us.
