As part of his media availability today, along with general manager Kent Hughes, Canadiens forward Kirby Dach was asked about his decision to sign a four-year contract in Montreal (a pact worth $3.36 million). That's an unusual transitional contract.
His answer to the question is very interesting:
"If everything goes well and we're sitting here at the end of two years, I might leave some money on the table, but at the end of the day, it's about winning Stanley Cups and not about making a lot of money."

There you go, well said! The kind of answer that really makes fans happy:
He goes on and on, explaining his decision:
"I got to see the forward group here and the direction they went in when Marty [St. Louis] took over, how well they played, how free and offensive and fluid the game became - it was pretty exciting for me to have the opportunity to come here and play..."
"I thought the four years gave me more time to grow (as a person and as a player) and develop, especially with this team and where the management is headed. With the guys, we want to start building something."
- Kirby Dach (via Priyanta Emrith)
Finally, the young center fielder confided that he finally feels 100%. He no longer has any problems with his wrist, which is completely healed.
Only positive things!
