On the air of BPM Sports in the last few minutes, the excellent Mathias Brunet revealed some important information about the young promising defenseman Lane Hutson.

The verdict would be in.

Unsurprisingly, the verdict is reportedly in. Hutson would return to the NCAA next season, and thus, he would not soon sign a contract with the Montreal Canadiens.

Brunet went fishing for information over the weekend and this is what came up.

Hutson, 18, was drafted 62nd overall in 2022 by the CH.

He has a very solid 27 points in 22 games this season with Boston University, so he should return to BU for the 2023-24 season.

After that, Hutson is expected to line up for the Habs in 2024.

We are overly excited to see this extremely promising and talented youngster, but we need to give him time to develop.

In short, for those who were wondering, we will obviously have to wait at least one more year before we see Kent Hughes sign Hutson.
