Major announcement involving 5 players including top Habs prospect Lane Hutson
In the last few minutes, USA Hockey made an announcement that speaks volumes about the excellent attitude of young Lane Hutson, possibly the best prospect of the Montreal Canadiens.
He has just been named assistant captain of Team USA for the upcoming World Junior Ice Hockey Championships. A great news.
Rutger McGroarty has been named captain of the United States. Hutson, Cutter Gauthier, Gavin Brindley, and Ryan Chesley are the four assistants.
It will be really interesting to see this group in action over the next few weeks, a group possibly led by the best prospect of the Montreal Canadiens.
Note in passing that the United States are the favorites, according to bookmakers, to win the gold medal this year.
Speaking of Lane Hutson, let's remember that Kent Hughes recently mentioned that he could play games this season with the Canadiens, at the end of his college season.
We are already looking forward to it!
Hutson, 19, has accumulated 68 points, including 23 goals, in his NCAA career. (54 games) These are historic numbers for a 19-year-old defenseman.
