In the last few minutes, the journalist Nicolas Cloutier made a big revelation regarding Kent Hughes' true intentions concerning Matvei Michkov.
Cloutier, who has excellent sources, mentioned the following:
"I'll tell you one thing. The Canadiens were never interested in drafting Michkov. It was never part of the plan, but Kent Hughes always wanted to keep his cards close to his chest. So, Hughes apparently just misled everyone. Wow. He was never interested in selecting Matvei Michkov, which is honestly quite surprising.
