The Chicago Blackhawks have traded goalie Malcolm Subban to the Buffalo Sabres in return for future considerations.
Subban, 27, was a first round pick of the Boston Bruins in 2012. He was never able to settle in comfortably in the NHL, considering his below-par stats.
In 82 NHL games, he's racked up 36 wins, now has a .899 save percentage and a 3.02 goals-against average. Pretty disappointing, right?
In addition, he has played in five games this season with the Blackhawks' AHL club. He had two wins, a .893 save percentage and a 3.38 goals-against average.
This will be a new start for him with the Sabres, who are desperately looking for a goaltender to hold down the fort in front of the net. He will likely back up Dustin Tokarski, who is considered the man of the hour in Buffalo.
