Marc-Andre Fleury was facing his former team, the Pittsburgh Penguins, last night. Thanks to his strong 42-save performance, the Blackhawks triumphed by a score of 3-2.
Chicago got a rare win in this disastrous start of the season.
Marc-Andre Fleury is known to be a very calm and collected individual. In the first few games with the Hawks, he kept smiling despite the team's underachievement. However, over time, the constant losing can be irritating. This seems to be the case for "Flower".
Yesterday, while he had the puck obviously trapped under his mitt, Jeff Carter took the opportunity to take a big unnecessary swing at Fleury's hand. The Sorel-Tracy native didn't appreciate the gesture. He went crazy on the sequence, a very surprising reaction from him.
Despite his sweet and friendly nature, Fleury is human after all. With everything going on in the organization, frustration may be getting the better of him.
Maybe getting out of Chicago could be a relief for him? There are a lot of rumors going around that Fleury could be traded to the Edmonton Oilers, who are currently looking for a goalie.
