Earlier today, the Montreal Canadiens organization released their official lineup for tonight's game, and one of the most popular names right now, Arber Xhekaj, will be back in action:
Defensive pairings for tonight:
Guhle-Savard
Xhekaj-Wideman
Norlinder-Trudeau
Beyond playing another big game tonight in a duo with Chris Wideman, Xhekaj just got a golden opportunity to shine, courtesy of Martin St. Louis.
He will be rotating on the first wave of the power play!
When the CH is on the power play tonight, watch for it, Xhekaj may very well be the first wave quarterback (he was rotating with Wideman this morning, but was coming back more often).
Xhekaj, who is trying to beat the odds and earn his spot in the Habs starting lineup to begin the season, will indeed have a great opportunity to stand out against the Jets offensively.
We can't wait to see what he's made of once again.
Xhekaj, 21, had 17 points in 18 games in Kitchener and 17 points in 33 games in Hamilton last season (plus 16 points in 18 playoff games).
The 6-foot-4, 238-pound defenseman seems to have some offensive potential and he'll have a chance to show it to his bosses tonight.
This is a great idea from Martin St-Louis!
Do you think Xhekaj will start the season in Montreal?
Check out the power play units:
1st :
