We told you earlier today, the news was very good about goalie Carey Price this morning:
Now that we know he is close to a return and is practicing normally with his teammates, renowned journalist Eric Engels, who covers the CH for Sportsnet, even went so far as to suggest a possible return date for Carey.
"I guess we'll see how Price's knee reacts and how his conditioning is, and also, what the Canadiens say. But based on what I'm watching and seeing today, and this is purely my opinion, I wouldn't be surprised if he comes back at some point this week." - Eric Engels
And he adds this:
"If not tomorrow, and I doubt it will be tomorrow, it will probably be next Monday at the Bell Center. I kind of doubt his first start will come on the road."
Without obviously confirming anything, Engels advances a possible date and that is a first in a very very long time. We must admit that in a mini-game situation today, Carey seemed 100%.
Do you believe in a return to the game of Price, for next Monday?
When asked about the subject, head coach Martin St-Louis said that he can't confirm when #31 will return to the game, but he added that he was in great shape today at practice and looked good.
"I feel like it's really important for Carey to play before the end of the season, to prove to himself that he can do it. It could completely change his confidence level going into the summer season." - Martin St. Louis
Other great news:
"Carey Price hasn't given up his net once to Samuel Montembeault since the start of practice. I could be wrong, but this is the first time he's given me the impression of a guy who's closing in on a comeback." - Marc Antoine Godin, who adds that in the end, number 31 occupied his net about 80% of the time. Wow. In light of all this, without obviously confirming that it will be next Monday, we have excellent reasons to believe that Carey Price will be back in action for the Montreal Canadiens this season. (and sooner rather than later)
