Used more and more regularly by his head coach Dominique Ducharme, young Mattias Norlinder may not play the entire campaign in the National Hockey League.
According to Nicolas Cloutier of TVA Sports, Norlinder's agent, JP Barry, is preparing to have a discussion with the Montreal Canadiens' staff to inquire about his protégé's short-term future.
The number one option would obviously be to allow Mattias Norlinder to return to his native country, Sweden, where he plays with the Frolunda Indians.
However, the option of giving Norlinder to the Laval Rocket on a regular basis would be an increasingly plausible alternative, contrary to what has been suggested in the past.
Remember that Norlinder has already been around a lot this season, having played six games in the National Hockey League, three in the AHL and one in Sweden. A bit of stability would be good for the 21-year-old's development.
