In a press conference in the last few seconds, after the wave of bad news of the day, head coach Martin St-Louis finally had some good news to announce.
See the official CH announcement:
"Martin St-Louis confirms that defenseman Mike Matheson will return to action tonight against the Jets." - Montreal Canadiens
So Matheson is back in the game! He has 6 points in 10 games this season with the Habs (31 points last season in Pittsburgh)
We will have a completely different lineup for tonight's game, due to the numerous injuries and the return of Matheson.
Remember that Joel Armia, Jake Evans and Juraj Slafkovsky are out indefinitely. They have all been placed on the injured list. (And Monahan on the long-term injury list)
It should also be noted that Rafael Harvey-Pinard and Rem Pitlick have been recalled on an emergency basis.
More details will follow.
