This Monday at noon, Hockey Canada announced the names of the 24 players who will represent the country at the next IIHF World Championship to be held in Tampere and Helsinki, Finland.
From this line-up, we can find one player from the Montreal Canadiens, Josh Anderson. He will be accompanied by Pierre-Luc Dubois, Dylan Cozens, Mathew Barzal and Thomas Chabot, to name a few.
In 69 games this season, Anderson, 28, has 19 goals and 13 assists for 32 points. He has maintained a -25 rating and is averaging 17 minutes 14 seconds per game.
At the time of the club's review, Nick Suzuki had mentioned that he had received an invitation from Team Canada, but he declined the offer in order to heal an injury that bothered him at the end of the season. It's the same thing for Brendan Gallagher who prefers to take care of himself rather than represent his country.
Nick Suzuki (Canada) and Cole Caufield (USA) both declined the invitation to represent their country at the world championship.
