Once again this year, we will have a big fight for the Norris Trophy, awarded to the best defenseman of the Bettman circuit. Last year, it was Adam Fox of the New York Rangers who won the ultimate honour.
This year's favourites include Florida Panthers defenceman Aaron Ekblad, who just came back from a major injury last year. Ekblad missed three months of activity following a leg injury against the Stars last March.
Not surprisingly, there are also Victor Hedman of the Lightning and Roman Josi of the Predators who are part of the fight. These two veteran defensemen have been among the elite of the NHL for several years.
Young wolves like Adam Fox, Cale Makar and Quinn Hughes could possibly come and muddy the waters in the second half of the season. We must not forget also the Letang, Carlson and Rielly who can also join the fight at the top.
In short, there will be a tough fight for the Norris Trophy this year! Who do you see winning this honour within all the defenseman?
