In the last few minutes, little Ben Stelter's father, Mike, announced some very sad news:
"The world lost the most special boy and an absolute hero last night. Ben, you were the best son we could have hoped for and you were my best friend. Your sisters were so lucky to have you as such a sweet brother. You fought so long and defied all odds."
Ben was only six years old and was considered the biggest supporter of the team, a true good luck charm.
The Oilers went on a 10 game home winning streak when Ben was around.
Little Ben was unfortunately diagnosed with glioblastoma, a form of brain cancer, less than two years ago. He truly left a lasting impression on us with his good humor, kindness and perseverance.
Rest in peace, little angel.
