With the 47th pick of 2020, it was the Montreal Canadiens' turn to talk and they chose Alex Tuch's brother, Luke, an assumed power forward. Following his selection, Luke praised his physicality and with good reason.
Tuch has a lot of assets that could allow him to become a dominant player in the NHL. He has size, he skates like the wind, and he is defensively responsible. However, we would like to see him perform better offensively, which was the case last year, but not this year...
In his first NCAA campaign with Boston University, he had a very satisfying 11 points, including six goals, in 16 games. So, this year, the organization was certainly expecting big things, but so far, they have been left wanting as Tuch's offensive performances have been invisible.
So far, Tuch has no points on the scoreboard in eight duels... His team is struggling, but that doesn't excuse Tuch's performance, which some see as better than his brother Alex.
He will have to get back on track quickly because the 19-year-old forward remains a very promising prospect for the Montreal Canadiens. At least, the former managers were very happy with this draft choice...
