It is still crazy to see that Alex Ovechkin, now 36 years old, is more popular than ever. Since 2018, it is fair to say that its popularity has increased and that those who denigrated it have changed their discourse on it.
Number 8 is on a mission to join and overtake Wayne Gretzky at the top of the scorers in NHL history. He also wants to lift a 2nd Stanley Cup with the Washington Capitals, and then this mission may be taking shape right now.
That said, his popularity has increased so much that he is the player who sold the most jerseys in 2021, ahead of Sidney Crosby and Marc-André Fleury.
«Ovi» is also ahead of Carey Price (7th), Connor McDavid (5th), Auston Matthews (4th) and Nathan MacKinnon (8th), which is no small feat!
Everyone has become unanimous, the «Tsar» is a UNIQUE player!!!!
