Now that Kent Hughes is the new general manager of the Montreal Canadiens, his work will be constantly compared to that of his predecessors, and in particular to that of Marc Bergevin.

Former CH defenseman Patrice Brisebois was present at Wednesday's press conference with Geoff Molson and Jeff Gorton, and he seems to have appreciated what he saw from their new man.

The man who wore the Tricolore's colors for more than ten years even took advantage of his appearance on the JiC show later in the day to send a huge arrow at Marc Bergevin. Brisebois said that Bergevin had somehow abandoned the organization in recent months because of his mismanagement.

"Just a few months ago, we were a few victories away from winning a 25th Cup and now we're in last place. Maybe, there was a bad management of Marc Bergevin in the last months. I think we let this team down."

Without having openly spoken about Bergevin's contract, Brisebois seems to believe that he no longer had the head for the Tricolore. In addition, Brisebois also had more to say about the former Canadiens, who he believes have been left out during the Marc Bergevin era.

"The Canadiens have always treated their veterans well. It's certain that during the Marc Bergevin era, there may have been a distancing on Marc's part. To be here today at the press conference, it shows how much the organization cares about the alumni. It's a big deal for me," said Brisebois.
