After being bothered by numerous injuries during the previous three seasons, expectations were high for him because he had almost no chance to play under Martin St-Louis last year.
Unfortunately, the number 27 has had a difficult start to the season with only three assists in eleven games, and we are starting to realize that it really feels like the end for him in a Habs uniform.
He will be a free agent at the end of the season, but let's just say that for now, his value is not very high and if Kent Hughes wants to trade him to another team at the trade deadline, he will have to trade him at a discount.
However, as reported by Samuel Doiron of Habsolumentfan.com, there are reportedly some NHL teams that could be interested in the services of the Quebec forward.
5 targets for a trade
According to journalist Lyle Richardson of Bleacherreport.com, the New Jersey Devils, Los Angeles Kings, Winnipeg Jets, Nashville Predators and New York Islanders would be teams that could very well add Drouin to their respective rosters in order to get some more depth on offense.
These are possible trade partners to watch.
Even tipster Marco D'Amico of Montreal Hockey Now suggests a trade with the Kings that would get Kent Hughes' hands on defenseman Sean Walker.
But the fact remains that no matter what price the Habs might get for #27, we have to face the fact that he will not have met the organization's expectations and for his future in the NHL, a change of scenery would do him a world of good (and he deserves it).
