In the last few seconds, the Colorado Avalanche organization announced the signing of forward Lukas Sedlak.
Sedlak, 29, has played 162 NHL games with the Columbus Blue Jackets and has 27 points. (15 career goals)
He then left, for the KHL, in 2019. He dominated, amassing :
- 40 points in 57 games (in 2020)
- 38 points in 58 games (in 2021)
- 43 points in 49 games (in 2022)
This is obviously a surprise and unexpected addition, as the Avalanche are in the midst of preparing for their Stanley Cup Finals.
Sedlak obviously won't be inserted (yet) into the lineup, but it's still an unusual situation for newly signed forward Lukas Sedlak, who just made it back to the NHL and already finds himself in the grand finale of the Stanley Cup.
Joe Sakic is not idle, anyway, even under the current circumstances. He just signed an interesting player.
We are talking about a one-year contract, and a value of less than a million dollars.
