The Montreal Canadiens can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. Dominique Ducharme will indeed be very pleased to welcome the return of several players who have been removed from the COVID-19 protocol.

No fewer than five players, including goaltenders Jake Allen and Samuel Montembeault, put on skates for the first time since being placed in solitary confinement on Sunday morning in Brossard. Defenders Ben Chiarot and Chris Wideman, as well as forward Artturi Lehkonen are the other three.

Note that goaltender coach Eric Raymond was also there after contracting COVID-19.

Finland's Joel Armia was also back in training, having been on the injured list since December 18. However, he was wearing a contactless vest.

Finally, the CH announced the recall of forward Jean-Sebastien Dea, who has amassed twelve points (eight goals) in 24 meetings with the Rocket this season.
This one will be placed on the reserve squad.

UPDATE:

Finally, 21 players showed up for practice. However, attackers Christian Dvorak, Mike Hoffman and Josh Anderson, who had been away for a long time, still have no right to distribute or receive contacts, as did Armia.

Jeff Petry is still in the United States, and should, not surprisingly, join the team in Boston for Wednesday's game. Paul Byron was officially placed on the COVID-19 protocol list, while it was a treatment day for Brendan Gallagher.
