During the day's press conference with Montreal Canadiens head coach Martin St-Louis, which took place in the final seconds, we witnessed a rather unexpected exchange.
The excellent Martin McGuire first warned St-Louis that he was coming out of left field with his question, and indeed, the head coach had no idea that he was going to be questioned about it today.
It's a big concern. At the end of the month, there is a crossing between the South Shore and Montreal that will close. Many people foresee major traffic problems, and this is not in the short term, it's for three years. [...] Do you think guys will (change their habits) and choose to stay in town, to rest, on game days? Did you plan for that?"
Martin St. Louis' response and non-verbal was just perfect. A nice little lighter moment this morning that really made us laugh.
Watch it, right here, starting at the 8 minute mark :
Basically, St. Louis explains that he had no idea and that the decision to practice at the Bell Centre on game days had nothing to do with it.
Welcome to Montreal, Martin! (Joke)
He even offers to pay him a hotel room, at the end :
"We'll pay you a hotel room."
Anyway, we have confirmation that the Habs head coach is not traveling by helicopter, not yet, he says.
