This week, ESPN's Greg Wyshynski presented his top goaltending duos in the National Hockey League and let's just say that the 12th spot awarded to Carey Price and Jake Allen didn't sit well with Montreal fans, many experts and Stephane Waite, obviously.
According to Greg Wyshynski, Semyon Varlamov and Ilya Sorokin of the New York Islanders are the best pair, followed by Andrei Vasilevskiy and Brian Elliott of the Tampa Bay Lightning. In third place are Philipp Grubauer and Chris Driedger of the Seattle Kraken... Really? In the case of our favorite duo, Carey Price and Jake Allen, they are ranked 12th, I remind you.
Waite couldn't help but defend his former teammates, saying that they were the best duo in the League: "For me, the best duo, I don't want to be chauvinistic, it is in Montreal!"
So you don't agree with this list, Mr. Waite?
"No. Not really. Not sure. I don't know where they got their experts on that. We're not talking about the best goalie, we're talking about the best duo, that's different. I think Jake is better than Elliott, those best years are behind him!"
