As the games go on, you wonder if anyone will be able to stop Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield. The two partners have been simply dominant since the beginning of the campaign and they are not letting up, both at home and abroad.
Saturday night's game was not an easy one for Martin St-Louis' men, but the trio of Suzuki, Caufield and Kirby Dach still produced three goals. In fact, #14 and #22 are both at eight goals and 14 points (Suzuki 15).
The last time a Canadiens duo had eight goals and 14 points in 12 games was in 1981 with Guy Lafleur and Steve Shutt.
Better yet, the last time a pair of players 23 and under achieved the feat in the entire NHL was in 1993 with Keith Tkachuk and Teemu Selanne.
If they keep this up, the two Molson Cup winners for the month of October should be close to 100 points this season, which would be well beyond expectations.
