The World Junior Hockey Championship kicks off in Edmonton this week and all eyes across the country will no doubt be on young sensation Connor Bedard.

The man many experts believe to be the top prospect in the 2023 NHL draft will have a chance to make his mark on Team Canada's top line, and it's a safe bet that some Canadiens fans will be watching his every move closely over the next few days.

However, as Marc-Olivier Cook of Danslescoulisses.com reports, don't count on Nick Suzuki hoping the Habs can draft the young sensation who just turned 17 in the last few days.

On the Habs Tonight podcast, No. 14 said that all that matters for the upcoming season is to simply win.

"I don't really worry about where we end up and trying to get a high pick; that's not really what we worry about, we just want to win."

Let's just say that shows all of his leadership qualities within the organization and that he would be a great candidate to be the next Habs captain.

Getting back to Bedard and the World Junior Championship, Canada plays its first game Wednesday night against Latvia and the young prospect is expected to be paired with Mason McTavish and a Habs prospect, one Joshua Roy, on the team's top three.

Let's just say that this line could give the other teams a run for their money during the tournament.
