In fact, via its official account, the CH has just posted a photo of the 2022-2023 edition of the team.
All the players are there, except for Mike Hoffman.
Juraj Slafkovsky is also missing, but since he is a rookie (along with other youngsters like Filip Mesar), his absence is perfectly logical and predictable. He will have to earn his spot with the team and that's just fine.
On top of that, young Slafkovsky is in Buffalo for the team's rookie camp, so his absence is perfectly explainable.
However, in Hoffman's case, it's different and it's rather surprising. It could possibly say a lot about his future in Montreal. It's still a guess and it doesn't mean anything, but it's a file to keep an eye on (especially since the CH has too many forwards and Kent Hughes has openly admitted that he wants to trade a top player).
By the way, a few minutes after publishing "his 2022-2023 edition", the Canadiens' official account deleted its publication, to replace it with this one:
You can guess that this absence of Hoffman still makes many fans and observers react.
Even Carey Price is there:
We love it! Go Habs Go, the season is finally coming!
