The cuts will be made more and more quickly this week as the camp progresses at great speed. On Tuesday morning, Dominique Ducharme and his staff cut young defenseman Daniil Sobolev.

The Russian was the 142nd player selected in the last draft held by the National Hockey League. Sobolev, 18 years old, will join the Windsor Spitfires, a team he was supposed to play for in 2021, but the OHL did not hold a season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Sobolev isn't the biggest size (5-foot-10 and 154 pounds, according to Elite Prospects), but he's solid on his skates, then his overall commitment to the game defines him perfectly. In 2020-21 in the MHL, Russia's junior league, he strung together two goals and four assists while spending 47 minutes in the dungeon in 48 games.

That said, under the Montreal Canadiens announcement via Twitter, a fan made fun of Kevin Poulin, indicating that he would be the next player cut by the Montreal Canadiens. All this, following a blunder during a simple preparatory game. Come on...
