The Montreal Canadiens have officially unveiled the list of 27 players who will be attending their rookie camp, which gets underway on September 15.
There are some interesting names on this list, including Rafael Harvey-Pinard (7th round, 2019), Cameron Hillis (3rd round, 2018), Riley Kidney (2nd round, 2021), Jan Mysak (2nd round, 2020), Joshua Roy (5th round, 2021), Xavier Simoneau (6th round, 2021), Jesse Ylonen (2nd round, 2018), Kaiden Guhle (1st round, 2020), Mattias Norlinder (3rd round, 2019), and Alexis Gravel (trial).
It is easy to see that Cole Caufield (1st round, 2019) is not on this list, as he is virtually guaranteed a spot with the Habs.
It will be very intriguing to see if players like Tag Bertuzzi, Alexis Gravel and Avery Hayes will be able to secure a contract with the Canadiens or the Rocket at the end of camp.
New Laval Rocket head coach Jean-Francois Houle will be in charge of leading the troops in practice and will be doing player evaluations during camp.
