It was finally yesterday that the Montreal Canadiens organization unveiled its final roster for the new season, and four rookies received excellent news.
Juraj Slafkovsky, Kaiden Guhle, Jordan Harris and Arber Xhekaj won their bets and earned their spot in the CH's starting lineup.
Xhekaj was sent to the Laval Rocket yesterday, but it was just an administrative move and he will be recalled before tomorrow's game.
Details on the big announcement.
We learned how the Habs' bosses broke the good news to the youngsters.
They held a private meeting, with the four rookies, they first announced the good news, but they also quickly made the message clear.
As Sportsnet reporter Eric Engels reports, the four youngsters have earned their spot, for now, but that can change quickly and Kent Hughes was clear with them, about that.
"Guhle, Xhekaj, Harris and Slafkovsky were called into a meeting to learn that they make the team. They were also told that there are several other good players who could have stayed in their positions and that things change quickly." - Eric Engels
The message is clear, and after hearing the players' recent press briefings, it's safe to say they seem to have gotten that message.
If they don't give the required effort, they will be replaced by other players and nothing can be taken for granted.
It will be really interesting to watch their progress.
